TRIPLE-A — TACOMA RAINIERS

RECAP: The Rainiers rallied for a run in the top of the 9th inning, but it wasn’t enough as Tacoma fell to Reno 7–2 on Monday night. RF Forrest Wall (2x4, R, SB) led the Rainiers with 2 hits, while 2B Jonathan Villar (1x4), LF Erick Mejia (1x4, R, 2B), DH Derek Hill (1x4) and PH Kyle Bird (1x1, 2B, RBI) each collected 1 of the team’s 6 hits. Starter Darren McCaughan (6.0,8,4,4,2,4) recorded the loss in his final start of the season, falling to 8–9 overall. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits while walking 2 and striking out 4 over 6.0 innings. LH Brennan Bernardino (2.0,4,3,3,1,3) allowed 3 runs on 4 hits over 2.0 innings in relief.

OF NOTE:

· Since July 1, OF Forrest Wall is batting .285 (57x200) with 38 runs scored, 11 doubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs, 25 RBI, 4 HBP, 14 walks and 29 stolen bases in 59 games.
