SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander announced today the following roster moves:

· Sam Haggerty, INF/OF, recalled from Triple-A Tacoma.

· Jonatan Clase, OF, optioned to Triple-A Tacoma (post-game April 28).

Haggerty, 29, has appeared in 17 games with Triple-A Tacoma this season, batting .344 (22x64) with 8 runs, 2 doubles, 5 RBI, 7 stolen bases and a .792 OPS. He began the season on the 10-day Injured List (medical procedure) and was reinstated on April 17 and optioned to Triple-A Tacoma.

The infielder/outfielder appeared in 52 games with the Mariners last season, batting .253 (23x91) with 12 runs, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 5 RBI, 10 stolen bases and a .705 OPS. He also appeared in 47 games with Tacoma last season, batting .324 (60x185), 41 runs, 15 doubles, 4 triples, 8 home runs, 29 RBI, 19 stolen bases and a .997 OPS.

Haggerty has appeared in parts of 5 Major League seasons with New York-NL (2019) and Seattle (2020-c), batting .241 (97x403) with 64 runs, 19 doubles, 2 triples, 9 home runs, 39 RBI, 32 stolen bases and a .686 OPS. He made his Major League debut with the New York Mets on September 4, 2019 vs. Washington.

Clase (CLAH-say), 21, appeared in 9 games with Seattle, hitting .222 (6x27) with a double, 3 RBI and 2 stolen bases. He made his Major League debut on April 15 vs. Cincinnati. Clase also appeared in 12 games this season with Triple-A Tacoma prior to his callup, batting .311 (14x45) with 9 runs, 4 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, 11 RBI, 3 stolen bases and 7 walks, getting on base at a .396 clip and slugging .622 (1.018 OPS).

Clase split the 2023 season between High-A Everett and Double-A Arkansas, combining to hit .242 (121x501) with 102 runs, 28 doubles, 8 triples, 20 home runs, 68 RBI, 79 stolen bases and 82 walks, getting on base at a .353 clip and slugging .449 (.802 OPS). He also appeared in the All-Star Futures Game at T-Mobile Park, starting the game in center field.

Clase has appeared in parts of 5 minor league seasons in the Mariners system, batting .264 (327x1241) with 278 runs, 67 doubles, 28 triples, 39 home runs, 160 RBI and 211 walks, getting on base at a .376 clip and slugging .457 (.833 OPS) in 325 games. He is 184-for-222 in stolen base attempts during his minor league career. He was signed by the Mariners as an international free agent on July 2, 2018.
